DAMASCUS -- Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani arrived in Syria's capital Damascus on Sunday, marking the first visit by an Iraqi prime minister since the beginning of the Syrian crisis 12 years ago.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad received al-Sudani at the presidential palace, followed by a joint press briefing, where the two leaders highlighted several points of their discussion, such as the new Arab "positive" position toward Syria. (Syria-Iraq-PM Visit)

TEHRAN -- The Iranian embassy in Libya is ready to provide consular services, the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reported Sunday, quoting the head of Iran's diplomatic delegation in the North African country.

"Given the closure of the Iranian embassy in Libya over the past years, we are currently preparing and organizing its building. Fortunately, the embassy is ready to accept clients," Einollah Souri told the ISNA when commenting on the latest developments in Iran's diplomatic relations with Libya. JERUSALEM -- A Palestinian gunman opened fire from a passing vehicle at an Israeli family outside a settlement in the occupied southern West Bank on Sunday, injuring a man and his two daughters.

The 35-year-old man sustained critical injuries and the two girls, aged 14 and 9, were lightly wounded by shrapnel, Israel's Magen David Adom emergency medical service said in a statement. (Israel-Palestine-Shooting Attack)

AMMAN -- Jordan on Sunday signed a 250-million-U.S. dollar agreement with the World Bank Group to finance a water efficiency project for the kingdom.

The agreement was signed by Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan and World Bank Middle East Country Director Jean-Christophe Carret, according to a ministry statement. (Jordan-Water Project-World Bank)
