Morocco offers condolences to Algeria over deadly wildfires

RABAT, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Morocco on Tuesday offered condolences to the victims of Algeria's wildfires that have left many dead and injured.

Morocco is "following with deep sorrow and regret the wildfires that have broken out in certain regions of Algeria," and wishes the injured a speedy recovery, the foreign ministry said in a statement.

Algeria cut diplomatic relations with Morocco in August 2021 for what it called hostile actions by the neighbor, after their decades of strained relations.

Wildfires in northern Algeria have killed at least 34 people, including 10 soldiers, according to the Monday update by the Algerian Interior Ministry.
