Namibian president admitted to hospital for follow-up procedure after aortic valve operation

WINDHOEK, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Namibian President Hage Geingob was admitted to a local hospital on Thursday for a follow-up procedure following his aortic valve procedure, which took place on June 8.

The presidency said in a statement that Geingob is in good spirits and will be discharged on Friday, after which he will resume his official duties on Aug. 2.

Geingob underwent a preventive minor aortic procedure in South Africa last month as a precautionary measure after a routine medical checkup revealed mild aortic stenosis, which had remained asymptomatic.
