U.S. dollar ticks down

NEW YORK, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Tuesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.51 percent to 103.533 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
