Chinese FM extends condolences over deadly rain in Tajikistan

BEIJING, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday sent a message of condolence to Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin, regarding the heavy casualties caused by heavy rain in Tajikistan.

In the message, Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said he was shocked to learn of the big casualties and losses caused by the heavy rain in Tajikistan's Vakhdat town and Rudaki district in the Sughd region.

On behalf of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang extended profound condolences over the victims, and sincere sympathy to the bereaved families and the affected people.
