BAGHDAD -- Three Islamic State (IS) militants were killed on Wednesday in an airstrike on IS hideouts in Salahudin province north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, the Iraqi military said.
Based on intelligence reports, the Iraqi warplanes bombed IS targets in a rugged area near the town of al-Eith in the northern part of the province, killing three IS militants and destroying four hideouts and some tunnels and caves used by IS militants. (Iraq-IS Militants)

TEHRAN -- Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei on Wednesday hailed the country's successive accessions to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS as "very good achievement" accomplished over a short period of time.
He made the remarks in a meeting with the members of the Iranian government, including President Ebrahim Raisi and cabinet ministers, in Iran's capital Tehran, while commenting on the government's achievements in different sectors, such as the field of foreign policy, according to a statement on the leader's website. BEIRUT -- The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) on Wednesday said it is seeking 15.5 million U.S. dollars to address the emerging needs arising from armed clashes in Ain Al-Helweh Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon.
"Thousands of civilians were forced to flee their homes, which were damaged or destroyed. All eight UNRWA schools, providing education for 5,900 children, have been occupied by armed militants and severely damaged," the agency said in a statement to the National News Agency. JERUSALEM -- A Palestinian dressed as an ultra-Orthodox Jew stabbed an Israeli in Jerusalem on Wednesday before being shot and killed by the Israeli police.
The police said in a statement that a knife attack occurred at the Shivtei Israel light rail stop near East Jerusalem, and the suspect was shot and killed by a border police officer in the area. (Israel-Knife Attack-Palestinians)
