5 injured in hospital bomb blast in Myanmar's Mandalay

YANGON, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Five people were injured on Thursday in a hospital bomb blast in Myanmar's second largest city of Mandalay, the information team of Myanmar's State Administration Council said.

The explosion occurred at around 1:30 p.m. local time on Thursday at a hospital in Mandalay, it said.

The information team reported that two men on a motorcycle entered the hospital premises, throwing two hand-made bombs before going away.

The victims of the explosion were five female office staff members, the information team said.
