20 dead in road accident in southern Ethiopia

ADDIS ABABA, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- At least 20 people were killed in southern Ethiopia after the driver of a transport bus they were traveling in lost control and the vehicle overturned, state media outlet Oromia Broadcasting Network (OBN) reported Tuesday.

The deadly traffic accident, which happened earlier Tuesday in Teltele district, Borena zone of Oromia region, also left 32 people injured.

The state media outlet said 18 of the injured sustained critical injuries while the rest 14 people suffered only light injuries. The injured are being treated in nearby medical institutions.

Police are investigating the causes of the deadly traffic accident.
