RIYADH, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- The two-day Jazan Investment Forum 2023 kicked off in Saudi Arabia's port city Jazan on Wednesday to review investment opportunities in the region.

Organized by Jazan Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Jazan Development Strategic Office, the forum aims to develop regional projects.

Majed Al-Gohary, secretary-general of Jazan Chamber of Commerce, announced the launch of several initiatives, including a fund for the investment in food security projects, the Jazan Products Platform, a 100-bed hospital project, and the Jazan Exhibition and Conference Center project.

The forum also invited business delegations from China, South Korea, and Djibouti, among other countries and regions.

Many Chinese enterprises have invested in and participated in the development of Jazan, including the commercial port of Jazan Economic City built by China Harbour Engineering Company.

Saleh Khabti, Saudi Arabia's deputy minister of investment, thanked Chinese enterprises for their contribution to Jazan, saying, "I believe Jazan will be very successful for Chinese companies."

A number of agreements and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) were signed during the forum, including an investment MOU inked by the Investment Ministry with various governmental and private agencies.
