Bangladesh's February inflation eases to 9.67 pct

DHAKA, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh's inflation decreased to 9.67 percent in February from 9.86 percent in January, according to the latest data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

The Consumer Price Index released by the BBS showed that food inflation declined to 9.44 percent in February from 9.56 percent in the previous month.

Inflation for non-food items decreased to 9.33 percent in February from 9.42 percent in January, the data showed.

The central bank of Bangladesh has recently revised the projection for inflation upwards to 7.5 percent in the current 2023-24 fiscal year from an initial 6 percent as consumer prices persistently stayed high.
