KINSHASA, May 28 (Xinhua) -- At least six people were killed and 85 others injured after a deadly truck rollover on Tuesday in South Kivu, a province in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), local media reported.

The accident occurred about two km from the airport of Kavumu, on the outskirts of Bukavu, the provincial capital, said the provincial secretariat of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The truck, belonging to the DRC military, was en route to a funeral and carried soldiers, their spouses and students.

Local authorities have not yet made an announcement regarding the accident. The exact number of passengers remains unknown, with some local media outlets claiming that over 200 passengers were on board, potentially overloading the truck.
