SAN FRANCISCO, June 26 (Xinhua) -- A wildfire in Deschutes County, U.S. state of Oregon, on Wednesday spread to more than 2,000 acres, officials said.

The Darlene 3 fire, which started Tuesday afternoon, led to several evacuation orders in the area, with 30 percent containment as of Wednesday morning, according to the Central Oregon Fire Management Service.

The American Red Cross opened a shelter, the organization reported. Multiple campgrounds and trails in the area remain shut down.

A multi-agency incident management team continued fighting the fire Wednesday, according to Central Oregon fire officials.

Four days earlier, another wildfire broke out west of the Deschutes River, burning over 1,000 acres. The fire was 50 percent contained as of Tuesday, Central Oregon Fire reported.
