Traditional agriculture feast held in Malta

VALLETTA, June 29 (Xinhua) -- An annual traditional agriculture feast was held in Malta over the weekend, providing locals and tourists an opportunity to relive old Maltese customs.

The two-day festival, which ended on Saturday, included a traditional horse racing which dates back to the early 17th century, as well as agricultural exhibitions and animal shows.

Maltese farmers are urged to attend the festivities and compete with their produce and animals to win prizes during the event.

There were also stalls offering traditional Maltese food at the venue of Buskett.

Malta's Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Anton Refalo noted that the feast, an important one in the Maltese cultural calendar, also offers an opportunity to further promote local products.
