Crude futures settle lower

NEW YORK, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices fell on Friday.

The West Texas Intermediate for August delivery decreased by 72 cents, or 0.86 percent, to settle at 83.16 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for September delivery lost 89 cents, or 1.02 percent, to settle at 86.54 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
