Crude futures settle lower

NEW YORK, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices fell on Monday.

The West Texas Intermediate for August delivery dropped 83 cents, or 1.0 percent, to settle at 82.33 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for September delivery decreased by 79 cents, or 0.91 percent, to settle at 85.75 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
