PARIS, July 25 (Xinhua) -- British Olympic diving gold medalist Tom Daley has said on Thursday that the Chinese divers will be the ones to beat in the pool at the Paris Olympics, but warned that pressure factor may affect result in competitions.

The 30-year-old is competing in his fifth Olympics after taking medals in London, Rio and Tokyo, with gold in the 10-meter synchronized event in Tokyo. "On paper you would consider them to win every single event," Daley told the press.

However, the man who had to deal with a huge amount of pressure in front of his home fans in London, shortly after his 18th birthday, warned that nothing can be taken for granted.

"It is the Olympic Games (...) I know every single one of the Chinese divers knows it is their competition to lose, which brings a lot of pressure and expectation."

"You go into a competition with a different mindset if you know you could and should win," warned Daley, who is maybe looking to ease some of the pressure on himself.
