KIGALI, July 25 (Xinhua) -- This year's Rwanda International Trade Fair opened Thursday in the Rwandan capital of Kigali, with more than 700 exhibitors from about 20 countries in the region and beyond expected to attend, organizers said.

The 27th edition of the exhibition will be held from July 25 to Aug. 15 at Gikondo Expo Grounds.

Walter Hunde, spokesperson for Rwanda's Private Sector Federation (PSF), the event organizer, said the annual exhibition offers local residents an opportunity to buy a variety of products from international and local exhibitors at affordable prices.

Noting that the exhibition offers a good opportunity for local traders to create networks with foreign traders, Hunde urged Rwandan producers to participate and showcase their products to a wider market.

This year's event is expected to attract more than 600,000 visitors, according to the PSF.

Joseline Karanja, a Kenyan exhibitor who has been attending the trade fair for the past four years, said she expected many customers to visit her exhibition stand which sells a range of products such as clothes and shoes.
