Namibia announces provisional squad ahead of AFCON qualifiers

WINDHOEK, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Namibia national football head coach Collin Benjamin on Thursday announced a 38-man provisional squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The squad, which includes local and South Africa-based players, will start their training camp at Football House on August 19, Benjamin said.

According to Benjamin, this intensive preparation is for their crucial qualifying matches scheduled for September.

Namibia is placed in Group J alongside Cameroon, Kenya, and Zimbabwe. Their first matches will be against Cameroon on September 7 and Kenya on September 10.
