BUCHAREST, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- A modern gunpowder plant is being built near the town of Victoria in central Romania, the TVR Info channel reported on Wednesday.
The new factory, with 400 million euros (439 million U.S. dollars) of investment, is expected to create approximately 1,500 jobs and revitalize the surrounding areas, reports said.
Local officials are optimistic about the benefits, highlighting the potential for a dual education system at the local technical high school, with an eye to training future specialists in mechanics and electromechanics.
Construction of the plant began early this month and is set to be completed by 2027.
