Crude futures settle lower

NEW YORK, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices fell on Wednesday.

The West Texas Intermediate for October delivery decreased 1.24 dollars, or 1.69 percent, to settle at 71.93 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for October delivery lost 1.15 dollars, or 1.49 percent, to settle at 76.05 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
