Interetno Festival kicks off in Serbia

SUBOTICA, Serbia, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- The annual Interetno Festival kicked off on Wednesday in Subotica, a northern Serbian city, featuring performances from Latin America and Europe and celebrating diverse musical and dance traditions.

In the opening address, Bela Bodrogi, the festival director, expressed gratitude to the City of Subotica and festival sponsors for their support, and invited the audience to enjoy the event.

"Thank you for being faithful fans of this festival, allowing us to enjoy these magnificent concerts together, including dances, music, and vibrant atmosphere here at City Square," Bodrogi said.

Until Aug. 25, attendees will enjoy daily performances, explore exhibitions of handicrafts and local delicacies, and join in lively dance celebrations.

Since its inception 23 years ago, the festival has steadily grown in prominence, earning recognition as a premier cultural event in the region.
