Crude futures settle lower

NEW YORK, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices fell on Tuesday.

The West Texas Intermediate for October delivery lost 1.89 U.S. dollars, or 2.44 percent, to settle at 75.53 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for October delivery dropped 1.88 dollars, or 2.31 percent, to settle at 79.55 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
