Crude futures settle lower


NEW YORK, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices fell on Friday.

The West Texas Intermediate for October delivery dropped 2.36 U.S. dollars, or 3.11 percent, to settle at 73.55 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for October delivery lost 1.14 dollars, or 1.43 percent, to settle at 78.8 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
