Crude futures settle higher

NEW YORK, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices advanced on Monday.

The West Texas Intermediate for October delivery added 1.04 U.S. dollars, or 1.54 percent, to settle at 68.71 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for November delivery gained 78 cents, or 1.1 percent, to settle at 71.84 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
