U.S. dollar ticks up


NEW YORK, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Wednesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.05 percent to 101.684 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.1018 U.S. dollars from 1.1024 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was down to 1.3045 dollars from 1.3082 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 142.20 Japanese yen, lower than 142.35 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar advanced to 0.8513 Swiss francs from 0.8467 Swiss francs, and it declined to 1.3577 Canadian dollars from 1.3605 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar decreased to 10.3716 Swedish Kronor from 10.3743 Swedish Kronor.
