LISBON, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Six students were stabbed by a classmate at a school in the municipality of Azambuja, central Portugal, leaving one child in serious condition, according to local Civil Protection authorities on Tuesday.

The attack took place at the Basic School 1, 2, and 3 of Azambuja, located in the Lisbon district, during school hours. The victims, all between 12 and 14 years old, were targeted by their peer in an unexpected assault.
