U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Friday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.11 percent to 100.723 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro was unchanged at 1.1165 U.S. dollars, and the British pound rose to 1.3318 dollars from 1.3282 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 143.87 Japanese yen, higher than 142.66 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar rose to 0.8503 Swiss francs from 0.8470 Swiss francs, and it climbed to 1.3559 Canadian dollars from 1.3556 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was up to 10.1692 Swedish Kronor from 10.1558 Swedish Kronor.
