NEW YORK, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Wednesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 293.47 points, or 0.70 percent, to 41,914.75. The S&P 500 sank 10.67 points, or 0.19 percent, to 5,722.26. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 7.68 points, or 0.04 percent, to 18,082.21.
Nine of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in red, with energy and health leading the laggards by losing 1.90 percent and 0.94 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, utilities and technology led the gainers by rising 0.54 percent and 0.50 percent, respectively.
