Springer Nature goes public at Frankfurt Stock Exchange

FRANKFURT, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Shares of the science publishing house Springer Nature debuted at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Friday, marking the third major IPO in Germany this year.

The company's shares opened at 24 euros (26.3 U.S. dollars) per share and rose above 24.5 euros at one point during the intraday trading. Earlier this week the company priced its Initial Public Offering (IPO) at 22.5 euros.

The total offer size of the company, a leading global publisher for research, health and education, is 600 million euros, among which 200 million euros will be used to reduce the debt.

In 2023, the company posted 1.85 billion euros in revenues and the adjusted operating profit rose to 511 million euros from 462 million euros in 2022. (1 euro = 1.10 U.S. dollar)
