HANOI, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- A majority of companies in Vietnam are willing to offer higher salaries for artificial intelligence (AI) candidates compared to other positions, Vietnam News reported on Friday citing a new survey conducted by Navigos Group.

About 43.7 percent of companies reported that they paid AI personnel 10-20 percent more, while 18.4 percent indicated that the salaries of AI-related titles were 20-50 percent higher than non AI-related titles, according to the report.

The survey, which interviewed 1,500 candidates and nearly 500 businesses in Vietnam in July and August, showed that the country's IT job market tends to be stable with a job turnover rate of only 32 percent in the first half of this year.

However, the future outlook is more volatile, with the study reporting that more than 65 percent of IT personnel are currently looking for a new job or planning to look for a new job within the next six to twelve months.

Product managers and product owners are at the top of the difficult-to-recruit job positions, accounting for 25.6 percent of the total number of responses, said the report.

Director of Product and Engineering of Navigos Group Phan Thanh Hien said while AI would accelerate automation, the human role in testing, evaluation, and optimization will remain crucial.

The ability to adapt and use AI was the biggest challenge that IT personnel as well as the IT recruitment industry faced when AI became the mainstream, Hien said.
