BiH police arrest suspect for smuggling illegal migrants

SARAJEVO, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH)'s Border Police have arrested a suspect for attempting to smuggle 11 migrants, according to an official statement on Thursday.

The incident occurred on Wednesday in the Gradiska area where officers inspected a vehicle with BiH plate. After discovering 11 foreign nationals, the Border Police detained the driver under suspicion of human smuggling.

The suspect was taken into custody for questioning. Additional bribery charges were added as the suspect attempted to bribe officers during the arrest.

The migrants have been handed over to the relevant authorities.
