U.S. dollar ticks down

NEW YORK, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Tuesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.45 percent to 103.421 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro advanced to 1.0931 U.S. dollars from 1.0879 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound added to 1.3021 dollars from 1.2954 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 151.46 Japanese yen, lower than 152.15 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar decreased to 0.8631 Swiss francs from 0.8637 Swiss francs, and it was down to 1.3841 Canadian dollars from 1.3898 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar dropped to 10.7131 Swedish Kronor from 10.7227 Swedish Kronor.
