U.S. dollar ticks down


NEW YORK, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Thursday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.55 percent to 104.512 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro rose to 1.0782 U.S. dollars from 1.0735 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound increased to 1.2965 U.S. dollars from 1.2890 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 153.09 Japanese yen, lower than 154.45 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar fell to 0.8735 Swiss francs from 0.8761 Swiss francs, and it declined to 1.3862 Canadian dollars from 1.3932 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was down to 10.7158 Swedish kronor from 10.8447 Swedish kronor.
