KYIV (Reuters) - Blasts were heard by Reuters' witnesses in Kyiv on Wednesday after Ukraine's air force put the whole country under air raid alert following the launch of Russian missile attacks.

In the first missile attack in more than two months, Russia used cruise missiles launched from strategic aircraft as well as ballistic missiles, Ukrainian military said.

"Explosions in the city. Air defence forces are working. Stay in shelters!" Kyiv city administration said on the Telegram messenger.

Authorities have not reported any casualties or damages.

On Aug. 26, Russia attacked Ukraine with more than 200 drones and missiles, killing seven people and striking energy facilities nationwide, in what Kyiv said was the "most massive attack" of the war.
