U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar advanced in late trading on Thursday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.18 percent to 106.675 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro dropped to 1.0548 U.S. dollars from 1.0566 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound fell to 1.2687 dollars from 1.2705 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 155.93 Japanese yen, higher than 155.55 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar added to 0.8887 Swiss francs from 0.8859 Swiss francs, and it was up to 1.4036 Canadian dollars from 1.3999 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar decreased to 10.9694 Swedish Kronor from 10.9817 Swedish Kronor.
