AMMAN, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- A panorama of Chinese films kicked off on Sunday at the Taj Mall Cinema in the Jordanian capital Amman, attracting hundreds of cinema enthusiasts and university students.

At the opening ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Chen Chuandong highlighted the rapid development of film art and industry in both China and Jordan, emphasizing their unique characteristics and bright prospects.

Managing Director of the Royal Film Commission of Jordan Mohannad Al-Bakri said that the panorama is an opportunity for the Jordanian audience to learn about the Chinese culture and to explore the deeply-rooted Chinese civilization.

Al-Bakri also pointed to the existing cooperation between Jordan and China in the field of film production and screening, and expressed hope that such cooperation would continue in the future.

Four Chinese films will be shown during the two-day event, which is co-organized by the Beijing Municipal Film Administration and the China Cultural Center in Amman, in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy in Jordan and the Royal Film Commission of Jordan.
