U.S. dollar ticks down

NEW YORK, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Monday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.38 percent to 106.276 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro increased to 1.0591 U.S. dollars from 1.0537 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was up to 1.2672 dollars from 1.2612 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 154.74 Japanese yen, higher than 154.22 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar declined to 0.8835 Swiss francs from 0.8876 Swiss francs, and it fell to 1.4019 Canadian dollars from 1.4092 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar decreased to 10.9175 Swedish Kronor from 10.9824 Swedish Kronor.
