U.S. stocks close mixed


NEW YORK, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Monday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 55.39 points, or 0.13 percent, to 43,389.6. The S&P 500 added 23.00 points, or 0.39 percent, to 5,893.62. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 111.68 points, or 0.60 percent, to 18,791.81.

Ten of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with energy and communication services leading the gainers by going up 1.05 percent and 1.04 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, industrials bucked the trend by dropping 0.17 percent.
