U.S. dollar ticks down

NEW YORK, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Wednesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.86 percent to 106.084 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro advanced to 1.0563 U.S. dollars from 1.0473 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was up to 1.2673 dollars from 1.2546 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 151.03 Japanese yen, lower than 153.11 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar lost to 0.8819 Swiss francs from 0.8873 Swiss francs, and it fell to 1.4031 Canadian dollars from 1.4062 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar dropped to 10.9132 Swedish Kronor from 11.0074 Swedish Kronor.
