Belarus' foreign debt reduces 400 mln USD

MINSK, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Belarus' foreign debt decreased by 4 million U.S. dollars in January-September 2024 to 36.4 billion dollars as of Oct. 1, the country's central bank said on Friday.

In relation to the country's gross domestic product (GDP), foreign debt decreased from 51.3 percent on Jan. 1 to 48.6 percent on Oct. 1.

The bulk of the country's foreign debt is still represented by long-term liabilities which is 71.7 percent.

Net foreign debt, which is external liabilities minus gross external assets in the form of debt instruments, decreased from 13.1 percent to 12.1 percent of GDP in January-September 2024.
