SARAJEVO, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Heavy snowfall accompanied by strong winds disrupted power supply in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on Monday, causing widespread outages in the country, according to Elektroprivreda BiH (EPBiH).

The electric utility company said that between 4:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. local time, approximately 180,000 customers experienced power outages. By afternoon, electrical maintenance teams had restored power supply to most areas, with around 47,000 customers still affected.

The hardest-hit region is Una-Sana Canton in the northwest, where about 30 percent of customers remain without electricity. Roughly 11,000 customers in northeast Tuzla Canton are also impacted.

Power supply problems were also reported in central cantons.

EPBiH said all available repair crews are working in challenging conditions to restore power supply as soon as possible.
