Crude futures settle lower

NEW YORK, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices fell on Monday.

The West Texas Intermediate for February delivery decreased 40 cents, or 0.54 percent, to settle at 73.56 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for March delivery dropped 21 cents, or 0.27 percent, to settle at 76.3 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
