PARIS, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- European aircraft manufacturer Airbus announced on Thursday that it delivered 766 commercial aircraft to 86 customers in 2024.

In a press release, Airbus highlighted the strong performance of its widebody order book, which complements its leading position in the single-aisle market.

The A320 family was the most popular product, with 602 aircraft delivered, topping the 571 deliveries recorded in 2023.

"On deliveries, we kept our trajectory and celebrated several landmark firsts. These include the first-ever A321XLR as well as first A330neo and A350 deliveries to several customers globally," said Christian Scherer, CEO of Commercial Aircraft at Airbus.

Scherer praised the "massive team effort" behind the 2024 results, acknowledging the challenges of operating in a complex and fast-changing environment.

Airbus plans to publish its full-year financial results for 2024 on Feb. 20.
