Crude futures settle higher

NEW YORK, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices climbed on Monday.

The West Texas Intermediate for February delivery went up 2.25 U.S. dollars, or 2.94 percent, to settle at 78.82 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for March delivery gained 1.25 dollars, or 1.57 percent, to settle at 81.01 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
