U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Thursday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.1 percent to 107.690 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro decreased to 1.0385 U.S. dollars from 1.0407 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound fell to 1.2436 dollars from 1.2506 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 151.39 Japanese yen, lower than 152.53 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar was up to 0.9051 Swiss francs from 0.9010 Swiss francs, and it advanced to 1.4319 Canadian dollars from 1.4315 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar increased to 10.8963 Swedish Kronor from 10.8955 Swedish Kronor.
