Trump threatens extra 50% tariffs for China over retaliation, ends talks

WASHINGTON DC (Bloomberg): US President Donald Trump threatened to "impose ADDITIONAL Tariffs on China of 50%" unless Beijing withdraws a 34% retaliatory duty on US goods.

"If China does not withdraw its 34% increase above their already long term trading abuses by tomorrow, April 8th, 2025, the United States will impose ADDITIONAL Tariffs on China of 50%, effective April 9th," Trump posted on his social media account.
