MIDWAY through the campaign period for the Nenggiri by-election in Kelantan, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia political analyst Dr Mazlan Ali says Umno is the underdog and PAS is the favourite.

“It is advantage to PAS based on the overall sentiment in rural Malay areas in the seat,” Mazlan said, referring to the Bersatu candidate contesting under the Islamist party’s flag.
