WHAT is not to like about not having to submit tax returns? After all, it means saying goodbye to that time of the year – April for those with non-business income – when there is much hand-wringing and dashing around to fill up forms and to meet the strict deadline for handing in those forms.
Therefore, it was welcome news when the Budget 2014 speech last October included the announcement that employees will not need to submit tax returns if they are satisfied that their monthly tax deductions (MTDs) match their income tax payable.
