The vision of our Rukun Negara
This Malaysia Day is a good time for us to reflect on our national ideology, which is the essence of the soul of the nation that has carried us this far.
'Maju' together for true Merdeka
YESTERDAY I read a heart-wrenching piece by one of our towering Malays in academia, Prof Dr Mohd Tajuddin Mohd Rasdi, entitled A Meaningless Merdeka, where he laments on the sliding down state of the nation and our failing society. His utter despondency on the futility of trying to save our beloved Malaysia in a climate where in his words, "peddler of religious capitalism comes to this country blaring insults... and ministers have dinners with him" and "Old Malaysia has just been given a new lease of life by a heart bypass", seem like the norm today among the real thinking-class of Malaysia. His article hit every point like a nail-gun to the head.YESTERDAY I read a heart-wrenching piece by one of our towering Malays in academia, Prof Dr Mohd Tajuddin Mohd Rasdi, entitled A Meaningless Merdeka, where he laments on the sliding down state of the nation and our failing society. Let's khat to the chase and get to the real issues
For Malaysian unity, we need to cut out the cancer and let the healing begin.
The importance of being united
THERE is a well-known fable about a father who called his four sons together and gave each one a stick; he then asked them to break their sticks and, of course, all four easily broke their sticks. But when he asked them to break 100 sticks held together, they failed.
Let’s talk economy – the sequel
To pump-prime our financial situation, we need a massive investment to revamp and rebuild our education.
Can we talk about the economy?
YES. Let’s not talk about sex, lies or videotapes. I am just not very interested in such things. Nor am I going to touch on the Bateq Orang asli issue as I am waiting for some news on it.
