I REFER to “Ex-ACP acquitted of rape will know fate on Sept 29” (The Star, Sept 23). We are pleased to read of the appeal against the acquittal in this case.

Crimes committed against disabled persons are rarely brought to court to seek legal redress, either due to the victims’ ignorance of their rights or the lack of recourse to justice.
